Bringing ELA to Life: Fifth Graders Take the Stage with High School Drama Club

Fifth-grade students will have the unique opportunity to bring their English Language Arts (ELA) learning to life through a meaningful collaboration with the high school drama program. Working alongside their teachers and high school performers, students explored key theater skills like character development, voice projection, and stage presence.

The experience will include attending a special performance of this year’s spring play, Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic by Matt Cox. Followed by an interactive workshop led by the cast. Fifth graders will have the opportunity to practice acting techniques and engage directly with the performers.

This partnership exemplifies the power of authentic learning experiences—where reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills come together in a dynamic and memorable way.
